women

My practice is centered on women across the whole arc of life: teens sixteen and up finding their footing, young women stepping into adulthood and figuring out who they want to become, women in the thick of building a life, caregivers holding up everyone around them, women in midlife asking new questions, and women facing the losses that come with age. The details change from one season to the next. What stays constant is how much women are asked to hold, and how rarely anyone asks what the holding costs them.

Whatever stage you're in, we might work on anxiety, self-worth, boundaries, relationships, identity, or grief. You won't have to perform being okay here.

grief

Grief work is at the heart of my practice. Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is love with nowhere to go, and our culture gives people remarkably little room to carry it.

I sit with people through the deaths we name out loud and also through the losses no one sends cards for: friendships that end, futures that never arrive, estrangement, and the complicated grieving that follows a complicated relationship.

There is no timeline here and no stages you are failing to pass through. You learn to carry it, and you don't have to learn alone.

substance use

I also work with substance use and recovery, though not in the acute stage. I see clients who are stable: maintaining after formal treatment, or early on and beginning to question their patterns. I bring years of clinical experience here, and no judgment about what it's taken to get through. I'm not a certified substance use disorder professional (SUDP) and don't provide formal chemical dependency treatment.

art therapy

Some things live below language. As a Registered Art Therapist I bring image-making and creative process into sessions when it serves. The product never matters much. What matters is giving shape to something that doesn't have one yet.
