about erin

I've been a therapist since 2010. In that time I've come to believe that technique matters less than presence. People grow when someone meets them without an agenda, and that is what I try to offer.

Most of what I work with comes down to anxiety and depression, or the two of them braided together. The racing thoughts, the dread, the flatness, the trouble sleeping, the exhaustion of looking fine while barely holding on. None of it means you're broken. These are signals, and once we build awareness around them, there's real room to heal.

Before private practice, I worked in residential treatment, hospital-based intensive outpatient programs, in-home therapy with foster care families, and substance use recovery settings. That range shaped how I work now. I have extensive clinical experience supporting people navigating substance use and recovery, though I am not a certified substance use disorder professional (SUDP) and do not provide formal chemical dependency treatment.

My foundation is humanistic. Within it I draw on psychodynamic, Jungian, somatic, and existential work, along with DBT, CBT, and ACT when they serve the person in front of me. I hold licenses in Washington and Wisconsin.

I'm also a Registered Art Therapist. Some of the truest things in us arrive as image or gesture before they arrive as words. When it fits, we make things in session. You don't need to be an artist, only willing.

I live and work on the Kitsap Peninsula, close to the water, and the rhythm of this place shapes how I think about healing. Nothing in nature hurries, and nothing in nature is behind.
